Ann found yoga when she moved to San Francisco after college and has been practicing for more than twenty years in various traditions including Ashtanga, Iyengar, and Vinyasa Flow. After the birth of her son, Ann developed a regular Ashtanga-based vinyasa (aka The Rocket) practice and was amazed by how much better she felt - mentally, emotionally, and physically. To further deepen her own practice and learn to share her love for yoga with the community, Ann completed 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training with Dana Damara in 2019.
After teaching online classes that supported friends, family, and teachers at her son's school during the pandemic, Ann completed an advanced mentorship program at Yoga Flow in San Francisco and began teaching in the studio. Ann's classes fuse tradition and precise alignment with creative sequencing and a sense of humor, and are set to an upbeat playlist. They are welcoming and supportive for newer students while being challenging for experienced yogis.
In addition to studying and teaching yoga, Ann has led technology and product teams for 20+ years. She understands first-hand the challenges around finding greater balance - however one might define it - in life, especially for working parents, and how yoga can help with that. Ann believes that the main intention of the physical practice is to create a moving meditation by connecting breath with movement, increasing strength, focus, and mental clarity. These, in turn, help practitioners live more harmoniously by learning to be intentional and mindful on and off the mat.
